Janina Liddell is an mixed-media artist whose work ranges from abstract interpretations to representational work. She draws inspiration from all aspects of her life, taking the world around her and re-defining it, and giving the viewer a unique insight into her perspective. Through her work another world is created, one coloured by her experiences and memories, in which the everyday is re-imagined as something extraordinary.
Janina's work is not an escape from everyday life, but rather an important reflection on the value inherent in everything when we take the time to see it.
Since 1998 Janina has worked as a professional art teacher, running a private art studio in Samford, just outside of Brisbane where she teaches children, adolescents and adults.
As well as running regular weekly classes, she has conducted various workshops including a 2013 sketching tour of Italy, in which attendees toured galleries, met with local artists and developed their artistic talent in stunning Tuscany and Cinque Terre.
Her work has most recently been exhibited in her home studio/gallery in Samford, just outside of Brisbane, where she lives and works. Janina opens her home studio Studio 16 every weekend of June, as part of the Samford & Surrounds: Arts Trail & Open Studios exhibition.
